Chef Vikas Khanna puts on an incredible show, from decor to lighting every detail is accounted for. We were lucky enough to sit under the glass ceiling area in the back on a beautifully sunny day. The flowers on the ceiling were so beautifully placed. On to the main event, the food! We shared four appetizers, which were all delicious in their own right, but the lamb chops were probably the best lamb anything I’ve ever had in my life- highly recommended! We also had their special as our which was a spinach and fennel leaf dish from northern India, it was perfectly paired with the five cheese kulcha. We shared the molten chocolate cake with the most incredible gulab jamun ice cream. For drinks we had the Holi Moly, which was deliciously spicy and the Kaali Peeli Taxi, which was the perfect take on a margarita. Unfortunately, we also ordered the clarified mango lassi and during desert we order two chais, but none of those drinks actually arrived. To be fair, it was a very busy Saturday night. Bungalow in NYC by the great Chef Vikas Khanna is on everybody's wishlist and I finally got the reservation to visit it. The chef was in the house and was so warm in greeting every guest. The ambiance is top notch and has every ingredient of being a cozy fine dine restaurant. Coming to food, the obvious choice in the appetizers has to be Yogurt Kebab which is the best dish out there. The flavors, the tenderness in which it is made is just amazing. Next up is chicken Anarkali which is a nice one in the non veg section. The mains was slightly underwhelming with the roasted pineapple did not a right spot with me, again it is a personal opinion. Others on the table loved it. 5 cheese kulcha was also slightly above average. The desert highlight has to be rose kulfi falooda with beautifully crafted. Overall an amazing experience to have dining experience in Bungalow and personally meet Vikas Khanna Sir. Truly cherished.

A truly memorable dining experience at Bungalow. Every dish was exceptional thoughtfully crafted, beautifully presented, and bursting with incredible flavor. What made the evening even more special was Chef Vikas Khanna himself. Despite his global acclaim, he is remarkably humble, down-to-earth, and takes the time to greet every guest with the same genuine warmth and respect. His gracious hospitality perfectly complements the outstanding cuisine. Highly recommended for anyone seeking an extraordinary culinary experience.

Bungalow in NYC is definitely a place I would recommend for the food. We tried the Anarkali Chicken, Chicken Biryani with Raita, Nilgiri Tandoori Prawns, and the Molten Chocolate Cake with Gulab Jamun ice cream. The Anarkali Chicken was absolutely amazing—full of flavor, perfectly cooked, and one of the standout dishes of the meal. The Nilgiri Tandoori Prawns were equally impressive, with a beautiful smoky flavor and great texture. The Chicken Biryani paired with the raita was also incredibly good, aromatic, and very satisfying. And for dessert, the Molten Chocolate Cake with Gulab Jamun ice cream was a fantastic combination and the perfect ending to the meal. The only reason I’m not giving a full 5 stars is the service. While the food was outstanding, the overall experience felt a bit rushed, and at times it seemed like some staff members came across as somewhat dismissive or as if they were looking down on guests. It took away from what could have been a perfect dining experience. If you’re going for exceptional Indian food with creative desserts, Bungalow is absolutely worth visiting. I just hope the service becomes as memorable as the food.

Banarasi Puri was good, but nothing special. Achari stuffed paneer was very good. Anarkali chicken was amazing - perfectly cooked and the pomegranate sauce was delicious. In Entrée, spice roasted pineapple was amazing - perfect sweet balance and flavor. Paneer lazeez was also really good. Chicken Amritsari was the highlight, perfectly cooked chicken and well balanced curry. All roti options were also great. For dessert, Mango three way was the best - subtle sweetness and Indian mango taste. Rose Kulfi falooda was also great, a bit more sweet for my taste. Chef Vikas Khanna was the highlight - he’s very modest and grounded. Had a great overall experience at Bungalow!

After watching so many Instagram reels and hearing countless great things about Bungalow, I was genuinely excited to dine here. I was only in NYC for one night and happily waited two hours for a seat at the bar because I thought it would be worth it. The highlight of my evening was meeting Chef Vikas Khanna. He is incredibly kind, humble, and takes the time to greet every guest with genuine warmth. It was a pleasure meeting him in person. Unfortunately, the food didn't live up to the hype. The Dal Bungalow was overly salty, the much-talked-about dahi kebabs were served cold and felt underwhelming, and the pineapple with yellow curry was thick and also served cold. The Paneer Lazeez was decent but not particularly memorable. For me, great food should not only be flavorful but also served piping hot. I expected much more from a restaurant led by Chef Vikas Khanna, especially given its reputation. I've had the opportunity to dine at Rania in DC, and I found the food there to be far more flavorful and memorable. Fine dining doesn't have to sacrifice bold flavors or proper serving temperature. I truly hope Bungalow improves the consistency of its food and ensures dishes are served

An unforgettable dining experience at Bungalow NYC! From the moment we walked in, everything was exceptional — the beautiful restaurant interior, warm hospitality, presentation, service, and most importantly, the incredible taste of the food. Every bite was packed with flavor, and you could truly taste every spice and ingredient thoughtfully coming together. The food feels like it is prepared with so much love and passion, and that love translates directly onto the plate. Chef Vikas Khanna is truly a vibe — it was such a pleasure seeing him around and bringing such amazing energy to the restaurant. Our server Ravi was also wonderful, attentive, and added to the experience with his genuine hospitality. The little gestures made our visit even more special. I was gifted a pocket square as a Father’s Day surprise, which was such a thoughtful and memorable touch. They also surprised us with a beautiful dessert and candle for my wife’s birthday, along with another dessert to celebrate Father’s Day with me. Those moments made us feel truly appreciated. We recently visited Bungalow to celebrate our anniversary, and overall it was a lovely experience. The ambiance is beautiful and perfect for a special occasion. We really enjoyed the vibe of the place—it feels elegant but still warm and welcoming. For drinks, we tried the Guava Lemonade and a Falsa mocktail (I don’t remember the exact name), and both were refreshing and delicious. For appetizers, we ordered the Dahi Kebab and Achari Stuffed Panner. Dahi Kebab was absolutely amazing—definitely one of our favorite dishes of the evening. For the main course, we had the Okra dish and Old Delhi Chole. We really liked the okra—it was flavorful and well prepared. However, the chole was just okay and didn’t stand out as much as we expected. For dessert, we tried the Rose Kulfi. If you are a big fan of rose flavor, you’ll probably enjoy it. For us, it was good for a one-time try. One small detail that made the experience special was the little candy in a red packet at the end. It instantly reminded me of my childhood, which was such a sweet nostalgic touch. Overall, it’s good to visit Bungalow at least once for the experience.
